Incredible Pizza Company

If you have not heard about this place, you are missing out.
Incredible Pizza Company
is located in Urbandale.
It's an all-you-can-eat buffet (really good one!) for $5.99 (for lunch only 11-2pm) and kids 3 and under are free!!
Along with the food, they have:
-bumper cars
-go-carts
-arcade games
-mini-bowling
-miniature golf
-jungle gym
-and so much more!
I know I sound like a commercial right now, but this place is really, really fun - your kids will love it.
The atmosphere is 50's and there are several "themed-rooms" that you can choose to eat in.
Let me know if anyone wants to go soon, we would love to go with you!
(Thursdays are the best day to go because they double all the money you spend, so it's much cheaper...)

Eat. Out.

We love to eat out. If we had the money, that's probably what we'd choose to do for our date nights every week! There are a few places around that we absolutely love.

1. Rock Bottom Brewery (on University, by Barnes and Noble and Macaroni Grill). It's got a wide variety of tasty food

2. Red Rossa Pizza (also on University). Can't beat fire-grilled pizza. Yum! They even have gelatto for dessert, if you choose.

3. Bravo Cuccina Italia (By Jordan Creek Mall). I love Italian food, what can I say?

4. Centro (Downtown Des Moines). It's a little more pricey, and probably not somewhere appropriate to take kids, but it makes a wonderful date night to celebrate a special occasion!

5. China One Buffet. Kellen went there with some of the guys from the ward one day for lunch...and they all love it! He keeps telling me he needs to take me there.

Fun, when it's warm outside

A great place to go, when it is warm outside, is Gray's lake. It's fun during the day, but even more fun when it's dark out because they turn some fun colored lights on over the bridge. It is great for a nice stroll with just you and your husband, or a great place to take the whole family too. It is also a nice way to get some exercise in without even realizing it. Once around is right about two miles, but you don't even realize it. Gray's Lake is located at 2101 Fleur Drive which is pretty close to DMU (a little further east)

As for food, my husband's favorite (fast food) burger is at B-Bops. It is vary inexpensive, and delicious. The atmosphere is pretty fun too, but plan to go when it is nice out, or get it to go because they do not have indoor seating. There fries and shakes are really good too :) The one we go to is basically in the parking lot of Sam' Club/Walmart in Windsor Heights. That is the 8th St/73rd St. exit on 235.

I hope these help someone. I will try to think of some other places too and post them. :) Good luck!!!

Weekend Get-a-ways!!

There are some great places around us for little mini stay-cations. If you're looking for somewhere fun for Spring Break, this list might be a good place to start!

Tanger Outlets - in Williamsburg (on the way to Nauvoo) about 1 1/2 hrs. from West Des Moines.
Adventureland - as close as you'll get to Disneyland. Children 3 and under are free, adults are $35. Only 25 minutes away from WDM, opens last week in April.
Wasserbahn-Amana Colonies near the outlets. There's a mall in Coralville about 20 minutes further east that has a small children's museum, carousel, and indoor ice skating arena.
One Fun City-Casino, waterpark, go-carts, arcade, and hotel in Burlington, about 30-45 from Nauvoo.
Coco Key Indoor Waterpark-Omaha in a Holiday Inn.
Mall of America - 3 hr. 45 min. from West Des Moines.
Omaha Children's Museum
Kings Point Resort- An indoor water park and resort. 2hrs. 45 min. from West Des Moines.
Des Moines Ramada-This is a hotel near Merle Hay Mall that has a brand new indoor waterpark. I haven't been there, but it'd be fun if you decide to stay close.

Hope you find something fun!! Let me know if you need a family to tag along with you! :)

Welcome to the blog!!

Like most of you girls, I like things.
I like good food.
I like good deals.
And I like having fun.

So, let's help each other out.

My goal for this blog is to have it be a way that we can share our knowledge.
If you find a great sale, post it!
If you eat at an incredible restaurant, post it!
If you find a super fun place to take the kids, post it!

Since we are all (most of us, at least) relatively new to the Des Moines area, I think this could be a great way to share our knowledge!

Watch out, Iowa.
Here we come.
